The Lit Galaxy Code
Six rules that keep the constellation safe, kind, and welcoming. Reading these takes 90 seconds. Living by them is what makes the weekend magic.
Respect comes first
We're a constellation of strangers, friends, families, and crews. Everyone deserves the right to enjoy the festival free from harassment, discrimination, or aggression — regardless of race, gender, identity, disability, age, or background.
Consent is non-negotiable
Ask before you touch. Ask before you photograph. If someone says no, walk away. The Wellness Zone has a 24/7 support hotline and trained crew if you need help, or if you see something you're not sure about.
Care for the land
Pack out what you pack in. Don't damage trees, installations, or wildlife habitat. The forest is here long after we leave — treat it like a guest in someone's home.
Safety is everyone's job
If you see someone in distress — medical, emotional, or otherwise — find a crew member with a pink wristband. Don't film. Don't post about it. Help, then move on quietly.
No bigotry, no weapons, no exceptions
Hate speech, hate symbols, weapons (real or replica), and substances that endanger others get you removed from the festival without refund. We're firm on this so we can be kind everywhere else.
How to report
Find any crew member with a pink wristband. They'll get you to the Safer Spaces Hub. You can also text the festival hotline at the number printed on your wristband, or email safer@litgalaxy.ca after the festival.
Need help right now?
If you're at the festival, find a crew member with a pink wristband. If you're not, the contact form goes straight to the Safer Spaces team.
